The Plug II

Holy hell, has it been two weeks already? I apologise to all the readers* who were expecting something sooner, and I apologise to all those who thought I had an actual schedule to adhere to. But you know. I don't. That being said, I do plan to put up posts more frequently. Then again, I plan a lot of things. Well, we'll see. But for the moment, you get to put up with an episode of The Plug.

Book: "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson.
When I started reading this, I was put in the odd and rather disconcerting position of the person to read a popular book after everyone else. Then HSC hit and I really didn't get to read much - I got maybe 50 pages in. So when I went up the coast, I decided to give it another go. I couldn't put it down. I was actually gasping when the plot twists came around. I haven't yet read the sequels, so I can't say much about them, but I can say that the hype of this book is well-founded. Go and read it.

Movie: "Monty Python's the Meaning of Life"
First off: this movie is weird. It is possibly the strangest of the Monty Python films, and that is really saying something. Secondly: it is also hilarious. Bonus points to "The Crimson Permanent Assurance" for being one of the most awesome and side-splitting sketches I have ever seen.

Song: "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley.
There are some things you just know. When I first read "The Count of Monte Cristo," I instantly knew upon finishing it that it was the best book I'd ever read. No arguments possible. The best book. And when I first listened to this song, I instantly knew upon the song ending that it was my favourite song. I know I might be prone to hyperbole occasionally, but none of that was hyperbole. Listen to the song. Now.

Game: Portal 2
Oh man, this game. This game right here. This game is absolutely awesome. GLaDOS (and I keep forgetting how to capitalise that, will have to remember how to for next time) is magnificent, Wheatley is hysterical, and Cave Johnson is Cave Johnson. Enough said there. The gameplay is amazing, the ending has awesome music and is even sort of touching, and I'm rambling. Long story short: this game is awesome.

Song: "Turret Opera (A Capella)" by A Capella Records.
This is now my ringtone.

I'm not a huge fan of the title, but I did love the picture. I really don't have much to say about it, but the nerd in me (I say the nerd in me, but I am a nerd, so, yeah) really loves it.

I don't have much else to say at this point, except expect* a post sooner than 2 weeks from now. You know, probably. OK, post over, run along, nothing else to see here.
